Of the 3 vehicle tuned today, we had this very nice low mileage Mini R56 Cooper S (2006) – Developed 172 to 217 bhp with torque 192 to 237 Lbft.
The MK2 Cooper S, utilizes PSA/BMW joint developed engine for a superb tuning base. Using a MED17 ECU controller, it provides for finer control and impressive performance. A turbo charger replaces the first generations supercharger, enabling larger performance gains – without any hardware upgrades – providing JC Works performance at a fraction of the cost.
Although low mileage (circa 61k), this Mini did suffer from a misfire – in the higher gears above 3k revs – post tune. A quick look at the Spark plugs, revealed quite a gap (electrode wear) 0.9-1mm – now gapped to 0.6mm – retesting all ok – the customer now sourcing new plugs….
