The new Renault Traffic, which is also shared with Vauxhall as a Vivaro, comes with Renault’s latest development in diesel technology, the 1.6 DCi Bi-Turbo which is Euro 5 compliant. This new 1.6 diesel engine is classified as the R9M engine and is fitted throughout the Renault and Nissan range in both single and twin turbo formats.
In the LCV sector, this R9M engine comes with two twin-turbo variants to choose from outputting 120PS and 140PS. The new R9M block is modular and in these applications Renault has installed identical turbos and injectors throughout which enables our software developers to extract the full 175bhp from both variants. For those customers not wanting the full power we are also able to take the 120bhp variant up to 140bhp as a factory upgrade.
